Research Reports
SMEs dominate our economic landscape. Over 90% of economic establishments are SMEs, contributing an estimated 40% to GDP, and 30% to exports (excluding Services Sector). These SMEs hold immense potential for catalyzing SME growth in the country. Studying the unique characteristics and challenges of SMEs is, therefore, important to develop a sound understanding of the sector and also to develop targeted support mechanisms. For this purpose, Research, Regulatory Insight & Advocacy Assistance for SMEs (RRI&A), a project of SMEDA has been launched to conduct research on various aspects of SMEs with the following core objectives:
- To conduct high quality research studies/surveys for developing evidence-based policies and programmes for SME development in the country.
- To develop technical position and policy papers to design and develop demand-based programmes and products for SME facilitation.
-
To identify potential sectors for value addition and investment mobilization.
