Hygiene is a set of practices performed to preserve health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), "Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases. Hygiene practices are employed as preventative measures to reduce the incidence and spreading of disease for the preservation of health. In the manufacture of food, good hygiene is a key part of quality assurance.
