SMEDA Invites Proposals for National SME Policy

SMEs are a driving force for economic growth in developed as well as developing countries. In Pakistan, SMEs were first recognized as a distinct segment at policy level in 2007 when the Federal Cabinet approved the First National SME Policy of Pakistan. Since the approval of the SME Policy 2007, various initiatives have been taken to promote SME growth in the country. However, rapidly changing business environment calls for a need to revise the SME Policy for the sector in line with global challenges with the objective to lift SME’s growth trajectory. Now, SMEDA has embarked upon an exercise for revision of SME Policy 2007. Technical assistance for this initiative is being provided by USAID’s Small & Medium Enterprise Activity Project.

In this regard, it is requested that SME specific recommendations under thematic areas given in the attached Template may kindly be furnished by Monday, October 1st, 2018. You may also send proposals through email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Your valuable input will provide a basis to create a facilitative business environment accelerating SME-led economic growth in Pakistan.
