Best Practices Manuals For Textile Sector

Industry Support Program (ISP) was initiated in 2004 jointly by Small & Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to provide technical support to the Textile Industry of Pakistan. The objective of ISP is to strengthen the Textile Sector of Pakistan by introducing modern techniques, methodology and effective management systems to improve the productivity and quality of textile products.

JICA placed five Senior Japanese Experts (Spinning, Weaving, Knitting, Garments and one coordinator) at SMEDA for a time period of two years. A total of 166 factories in different sub-sectors of Textile Industry (including 33 Spinning, 41 Weaving, 30 Knitting and 54 Garment factories) received direct benefit of this program all over the country.

Generic best practices manuals for above mentioned sectors have been prepared by SMEDA team under the supervision of Japanese Experts based on the findings of units covered under this Program. These manuals can be downloaded from the links below. The objective to prepare these manuals is to disseminate the output of this exercise to the rest of industry.
